The Wondrous Woodland Summer Gathering 22nd & 23rd July

This gathering is a two day alcohol free event, rooted in yoga and based in the ancient woodland of The Woodland Retreat. This gathering offers the opportunity for community and joyful connection sharing wholesome experiences to uplift ones whole being.

Yoga
There will be Bihar Yoga classes offered by Nickie Short, Majken Hindo, Bridget Evans, Maitri and Yoga Fusion offered by Lisa Mackenzie.

Meditation
There will be Buddist meditation sessions led by Wendy Jilly and Jan Harper Whale and Frances Hearn will be leading a nature meditation. There will be an opportunity to share in cascading oms before meal times if you would like to.

Nature Activities
Blair from Back2Nature will be inviting people to forage and collect plants to create a Hapa Zome fabric ID book and Ian Boyd  from Arc Consulting will be giving us a very informative talk on our local natural habitats and what we can do to support them.

Talks
Kane will be giving us a talk on permaculture and Frackfree Isle Of Wight will let us know you can help to  keep our Island beautiful. Lucy and Simon will be showing you how to make Kambucha giving away free samples and Bee will give us a talk on Bees!!!

Massage
Angie X Chell will be delivering a workshop on how give yourself healing abdominal massage.

Art and Crafts
Emma May will share the skills to create wonderful works of art and  Stephanie Tutton will be offering a workshop specifically for children (more info coming soon), Natalie Pugh will be offering a workshop on how to make crystal pendants (bring your own favourite crystal with you) and Bee Stingle will be guiding you through how to make your own nature mandalas (bring your own favourite wool with you). Lucy will be offering intricate beautiful henna tattoos and face painting.

Dance

Wendy Jilly will be leading a Freedom dance session inspired by 5 Rhythms.

Music
There will be an amazing evening programme with James Frost playing live around the camp fire. Sara will be playing the piano on Sunday and sharing unique music that she has written. Tickets for just the Saturday 22nd July evening are now available (19.00-23.00) £10.00.

Other wonderful offerings will be announced soon.

For Children

We would really love to invite children to this gathering. There will be things suitable for different age ranges but children will need to be the responsiblity of  their parent or  carer at all times. All children are welcome to the following sessions, the age range given indicates that this children should be able to be a participant in the workshop, younger children are welcomed but probably will need much more parental/carer support.

Back 2 Nature Bushcraft sessions suitable for children 6 +, Pendant wrapping 10+, Mandala making 5+, Felt making 7+, Stephaine Khun ( session to be annouched) 3+, Creative Art with Emma May 8+, Yoga with Maitri 6+, Talk with Ian Boyd giving a talk on bugs. There will also be a little play area with sand pit, paddling pool etc xx

Food

It would be lovely to all eat together and there will be a big eating area for us all. Lunch and evening meals will be provided by Karma Kitchen serving organic vegetarian home cooked food (£5.00 for lunch and £7.00 for an evening meal)  or you are welcome to bring your own pack lunch please let us know if you will be wanting a lunch or evening meal. Jenny will be running the Karma Kitchen Cafe offering delicious homemade vegan treats, teas and hot chocolate. You can buy tickets online for your the meals you would like.

Parking

There will be parking available just a 2 minute walk from The Woodland Retreat site. You won’t be able to park on site but here is a map so you know where to park.

Directions:

Drive into Fishbourne Lane towards the Wightlink Ferry and take the first left opposite the Fishbourne Garage called Ashlake Copse Road. Half way down the lane you will see a new house called Apple Trees and opposite is the car park for the gathering. Leave your car there and continue walking down the road taking the first left onto the footpath with a sign to the costal path. Continue along the footpath and you see the first left into the woodland gathering. You would be advised to bring a torch and good footwear depending on the weather.

Camping at The Wondrous Woodland Gathering

If you would like to camp you can find a camp site just a 5 minute walk away and you can bring your car to a car park just near to the site.All info below.

Kite Hill prices are £7.50 per person per night, £3.50 per child from 5th birthday
to 15th birthday per night, children under 5th birthday are free, £3.50
electric hook up per night. Please contact the campsite directly if you wish to book your camping.
